Although mini sprints are 725 pound scaled-down welterweight versions of the popular "World of Outlaw" open-wheeled sprint cars, they are serious and sophisticated racing machines. Car stability, provided by characteristic top and front wings, coupled with the 200 horsepower generated by 1200cc motorcycle engines, produces average lap speeds on 1/2 mile dirt tracks in excess of 100 miles per hour. Mini sprint car racing is quick, exciting, and highly competitive.
