CNYMS Celebrates 2008 Season at Awards Banquet
The 2008 A-Verdi Storage Containers / CNYMS Awards Banquet had a few similarities to 2007, with a few changes to position and the additions of some new names scattered throughout the money list.
For the first time ever in series history, Don Harvey II, of Milford, NY claimed the Championship on the A-Verdi Storage Containers Central New York Mini Sprint Tour making it the third consecutive year. Don't let the name fool you! Although mini sprints are 725 pound scaled-down welterweight versions
of the popular "World of Outlaw" open-wheeled sprint cars, they are serious and sophisticated
racing machines. Car stability, provided by characteristic top and front wings, coupled with
the 200 horsepower generated by 1200cc motorcycle engines, produces average lap speeds on 1/2
mile dirt tracks in excess of 100 miles per hour. Mini sprint car racing is quick, exciting,
and highly competitive.
